This 5-day BIRDING TOUR explores the rich habitats of Chopta, Mandal, and nearby areas, where altitudinal variation brings an exciting mix of mid- and high-altitude species. From colorful pheasants and laughingthrushes to elusive flycatchers and woodpeckers, every trail and forest edge promises rewarding encounters and photographic opportunities.

Itinerary

At Wild A Gram, we adapt and optimize itineraries to maximize the value of your birding experience. Here's the brief tentative itinerary we will follow

Day-1

  • The tour starts at Dehradun railway station or airport at 7am.

  • Transfer to Mandal Valley- 6-7 hour drive

  • Afternoon birding session at Mandal  exploring coniferous forests

  • Return to homestay for dinner by 7PM

  • Overnight at homestay in Mandal

  • Meal plan: Lunch & Dinner

Day -2

  • Day starts at 6am.

  • Morning session at Mandal Valley till 10 am then return to stay for lunch

  • Evening birding session at Mandal Valley till 7pm

  • Overnight at Mandal

  • Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner.

Day-3

  • Day starts at 5 AM​

  • Short birding session at Mandal for any remaining species

  • Transfer to Chopta at 9 AM and birding en route - 3.5 hours drive

  • Lunch upon arrival at Chopta

  • Evening birding session at Chopta Valley at 3PM

  • Return by 7:30 PM for Dinner at the homestay

  • Overnight at homestay in Chopta 

  • Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day-4

  • Day starts at 6 AM​ 

  • Full day birding  at Chopta Valley

  • Return by 5 PM and transfer to Mandal Valley 

  • Dinner and overnight at homestay in Mandal Valley 

  • Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

  • Last birding session at Mandal Valley 

  • Breakfast and transfer to Dehradun Airport/Railway Station

  • Tour ends
