DEHING PATKAI & MAGURI

Witness the birds of Northeast Lowland Forests & Wetlands

Exclusive Birding Tour
Most Unique Habitat & Diversity
100+ species covered

Tour Overview

The dense rainforests of Dehing Patkai and the vibrant wetlands of Maguri Beel together form one of Northeast India’s most rewarding birding landscapes. Nestled in the biodiverse foothills of Assam, this region is part of the Indo-Burma biodiversity hotspot — a haven for rare, range-restricted, and charismatic species that make it a must-visit destination for serious birders and wildlife photographers.

This 5-day, 4-night BIRDING TOUR covers the best of both worlds — the evergreen rainforests of Dehing Patkai and the rich wetland ecosystem of Maguri Beel near Dibru–Saikhowa National Park. The combination of forest trails, edge habitats, and boat safaris offers incredible diversity, from canopy-dwelling trogons and babblers to wetland raptors and waterfowl.

Birding is conducted through a mix of guided walks, jeep safaris, and boat rides, providing excellent photographic opportunities across varied habitats. Every day promises new highlights — be it the vivid flash of a Sultan Tit deep in the forest or a flock of migratory ducks gliding over golden backwaters.
