Budget Friendly
Explore Northeast Highland Birds in shorter number of days

Tour Overview

The mist-laden forests of Neora Valley National Park, tucked away in the eastern Himalayas of West Bengal, are among the most pristine and species-rich birding destinations in India. Stretching from the foothills of Kalimpong to the snow-capped ridges bordering Bhutan and Sikkim, Neora Valley is a sanctuary of untouched wilderness where towering oaks, bamboo thickets, and rhododendron forests come alive with birdsong. This hidden gem of the Eastern Himalayas offers a remarkable diversity of rare and elusive species, making it a dream destination for serious birders and nature photographers.

This 5-day, 4-night BIRDING TOUR is designed to explore the key birding zones of Neora Valley within a compact itinerary — ideal for working professionals seeking an immersive Himalayan birding experience without an extended schedule. The journey covers Rishop, Kolakham, Lava, and upper Neora trails, offering a range of habitats that transition from subtropical forests to temperate mountain slopes, ensuring a rewarding mix of birdlife and breathtaking scenery.

Birding is conducted through guided forest walks and short drives across key altitudinal gradients, with every trail revealing something new — from the haunting call of a wren-babbler deep in the undergrowth to the vivid flash of a minivet among flowering trees. The tranquil forests, crisp mountain air, and diffused Himalayan light make Neora Valley one of the most photogenic birding landscapes in India.
